THE CHALLENGE
My wife and I have lived in Texas for many years. She is British, and earlier this year she told me she wanted to move back to the UK. At 58 years old, the thought of starting over in a new country wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.
So I made her a counter-offer:
“I’ll move with you on one condition — I want to start my own business. I want to buy land and build a regenerative farm.”
She agreed, but with her own condition:
“The startup costs (excluding land) cannot exceed £20,000, and you have 5 years to make a decent living from it.”
And so The Challenge was born.
n July 2027 we will move to the UK and I will begin building Beagle Rock Farms from the ground up — using regenerative practices, with complete transparency. Every pound spent, every success, every mistake, and every lesson learned will be documented here.
This website is the home of that journey.
We will grow soft fruits like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants. We will keep bees for honey and pollination. And we will create artisan value-added products such as jams, jellies, sauces, chutneys, marinades, and infused honeys using natural, honey-sweetened ingredients and creative flavours.
This is not just another farm story. This is a real, honest, mid-life reset done publicly, with nothing hidden.
